The Guide To Giving

The generous contributions of NCR's friends and families, which are distributed through the Rev. John R. Glenn and other foundations, provide critical support for our ministry to modest-income families and older adults.

How can you help? You are invited to participate by making a gift or pledge and by encouraging support from other individuals, friends, businesses and clubs. Here are some gift options:

Cash
Gifts of cash remain popular and one of the most practical options. They are deductible by taxpayers who itemize. You may make a general gift to National Church Residences or any one of our foundations and specify its use, in consultation with the foundation staff, for one of the particular needs listed previously.

Charitable Bequest
A charitable bequest (gift by will) is a beautiful expression of your life as it reaches forward to help others. You can arrange a charitable bequest to any National Church Residences foundation through your will and be certain that your gift will be made, but only after you no longer need your assets.

Charitable Gift Annuity
If maintaining or supplementing income is necessary for you or a loved one, you may make a gift to the foundation and earn income through a charitable gift annuity. This agreement between the donor and the foundation is both a gift for the future benefit of the foundation and an annuity for the donor. A gift annuity is especially attractive to older donors, not only because of the tax advantages, but also because of income enhancement that is guaranteed for life. Gift annuities may be funded with cash, stocks or bonds.

Life Insurance
You may make any National Church Residences foundation the primary or contingent beneficiary of the proceeds of an existing life insurance policy.

Memorial Gifts
No matter the method, it is particularly meaningful for the giver and National Church Residences when gifts are made in memory of residents or other persons. This thoughtful touch allows gifts not only to honor someone but also to live on in service to other people.
